The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been widespread.
The first season introduces a large cast of personalities residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.
The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.
That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season moves, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds now.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.
"I've seen a couple people create a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
